Red Hair Salons are proud to introduce Smartbond, a new hair treatment from L’Oreal that enhances the strength and condition of your hair during and after your hair colour service.
It works by utilising a unique system that protects and strengthens the hair during your colour services. This is a three step service with the first two in salon and the third for you to use at home.
Your Red Hair stylist will advise you on how to continue maintaining your hair’s strength and vitality at home by using Smartbond.
The Science Bit….. The hair fibre and cortex is made up of Keratin chains which are linked by bonds. The Smartbond service will strengthen these bonds to improve the overall look, feel and condition of your hair.

Why Should I Use Smartbond?
Regular colouring of the hair can pose some risks:
- Damaging or affecting the condition of hair by regular colouring or lightening,
- Oxidation may cause the bonds in the hair to weaken,
- Damage to the ions may result in bonds being unable to reform.

- Targeting weaker hair bonds to strengthen and help keep the bond intact,

Will Smartbond Affect My Hair Colour?
Smartbond is designed to adapt to colour products, without affecting the lift or the tone, so it will have no negative effect on your colour!
How Does Smartbond Work?
Your stylist will add the first Smartbond treatment to your colour during the mixing process. Hair colour is then applied as normal. When your colour has developed and is ready to come off, the hair is rinsed, without shampoo, and towel dried.
Smartbond is then applied all over your hair as a pre-shampoo and is left on for 10 minutes. This is then rinsed out completely and your desired shampoo and conditioner is applied as normal.
How Much Does Smartbond Cost?
The Smartbond service starts at £20 and is an additional charge on top of your colour service. You will also need to purchase the Smartbond Conditioner, available for an extra £15, to ensure that the improved condition is maintained.
Using Smartbond At Home
Once you have completed your In Salon Smartbond Service and have purchased the Smartbond Conditioner, you can include it in your haircare routine. You should apply the Smartbond Conditioner to your hair once a week for best results. Smartbond Conditioner is always available from our Red Hair Salons, so contact us should you require another bottle!
