Nesrin Completes the Hastings Marathon and Raises £1,500 For Xtrax
Our fabulous Nesrin finished the Hastings Half Marathon in under 3 hours and has so far raised an amazing £1,500 for the Xtrax charity.
Xtrax is an independent, registered charity which helps young people aged 16-24 overcome the challenges of life and flourish as young adults.
Nesrin says: “This charity is close to my heart. Recently I have had a family member pass regarding mental health issues and it was very difficult as a family to engage, help and support during this very stressful time.
“It has had an overwhelming impact on our family that no family should ever have to go through and this is my way of giving something back and hopefully supporting an individual that may need professional support that I could not provide!
“By having this relationship with Xtrax I hope I can stop at least one family not having to face what my family have had to go threw.
Regardless of gender, belief, sexuality or personal history, Xtrax provide a safe space where they can get help and support from non-judgemental staff and volunteers, no matter what issues are affecting them.”
Nesrin trained hard for the Hastings Marathon, running 15k a week. She says: “For someone that could not even run for a bus I can’t believe I’ve run a marathon!! Thank you everyone for your generosity and support!”
